I AM BACK AND I'M BAD!!!
Posted Mar 14, 2010 9:57pm
YO! YO! YO! What's up to my msalysha.com family. This is my first blog after that Carnival season. I know it is late....Oh gosh....lol. Sometimes there are things that take priority over certain things you do that may seem important at the time. I just had to take some time off to be there for a close friend. I am happy to say that now everything is back on track and I can now function. Carnival 2010 for me was very "different." I know that is a strange word to use. I use the word "different" not in a bad or malicious way. When I say "different," I mean that for the first time I took the time to really look, and listen. Normally when put out music I spend most of the time focusing on all the things I am not getting, and not taking the time to focus on what I do have. This year I spent time being grateful for everything that I do have. Like shows, the website, airplay, being able to afford to write and record songs, having people see you on the streets and sing that lines in your song they love the most. Those were the things that made me happy this year. Now don't get me wrong, any good artist will tell you that they will not settle for anything less than grateness, but what I learned this year is in order to get the big blessings you have to appreciate the little ones. I have great respect for the newcomers in the game like Buffy, Swappi and the Mackamillion family. They taught me that I have to stay hungry and never relax. Never think that you safe and have it covered. Like the saying goes "Assumption is the mother of all F-ups." There is always an artist coming up that wants it baaaad, therefore I have to want it more. BIG UP to JW&Blaze for showing me that once you put out great music there is NOTHING ANYBODY CAN DO ABOUT IT! The people will fight for you if it is worth fighting for. Shout out to Shall Mashall for being (in my opinion) the most improved artist. That showed me that he did his homework and came out prepared. These are just a few of the reasons why I said that Carnival was "different" for me. For the first time in a long time I looked and I listened. THANK YOU GUYS!! I am taking the time in this off season to really re evaluate and change my approach when it comes to putting out music. I am experimenting with different genres of music. For the next few months you will be hearing alot from Ms. Alysha. The first track that will be out is a colaboration with Lloyd D Stiff. The song is called "Tiger Wood" and is featured on "the "Jungle X" riddim.....yea I said Lloyd D Stiff...A big artist with hit songs in the 80's and 90's. Classics like "Skin to Skin," "Badtalk," and "Nah Leff Yuh Condom" just to name a few. It was a pleasure working with him and I just would like to thank Lloyd D Stiff for blessing me with his vocals on this track. Another project is a song with Umi Marcano...that song......huh. IT MAAAAAD!!! Vintage Ms. Alysha ting. lyrics like dat and Umi doing what he does best. Some people my not like what I have to say but....whatever!!! Djs get your dubplate money ready. The track mad like that. You will definitely hear more about that one. Ummmmm...I have a dance track too...Aye! I told you I was experimenting lol and last but by no means the least a reggae track coming out soon. So there you have it. These are just some of the things I'll be working on for the next few months. Know that I am here doing what I do for the right reasons. I have regained my passion for music and remembered why it is I started doing it in the first place. No longer will I focus on the things I have no control over but concentrate on what I can control...MY MUSIC!! My mission is to make you dance and that I will. Basically what I'm saying to yall is THE BITCH IS BACK AND I'M PMS-ING!!! AYE!! YOU KNOW I LOVE ALLYUH.......PEACE!

Well it is about time that you put something new up lol. What I enjoy about reading your posts is that it not only keeps me abreast of what is going on with you in the soca industry but you always discuss your spiritual growth. Thank you for sharing and as always Im looking forward to bigger and better things from you.
